No, it will not detect most of those chemicals in the air. For many of those chemicals you have to do a wipe with a cloth and then insert. Trust me, I've tried it. And, the company will even tell you that if you ask them. The difference between detection by sniffing and wiping is actually a bigger deal than one might think....
